Honoring Those Who Came Before Us
Drive anywhere and you’ll pass dozens of cemeteries — quiet places where generations before us rest. The grass may be trimmed, or the cemetery may be overgrown and abandoned. But all too often, the gravestones — the very markers of their lives — are weathered, leaning, or covered in moss. These stones represent people who built our towns, served our country, raised families, and shaped the world we now live in. They deserve better. If we don’t take care of them, who will? Most people think that the cemetery is responsible for cleaning and fixing gravestones. That is not the case. Grave markers are personal property of the family and its them or volunteers like myself that will need to clean and fix.

My Mission
My name is Doug “The Cemetery Man”, and I’ve made it my passion to restore and preserve cemeteries and particularly gravestones of those gone before us. Whether it’s a large active cemetery with 1000’s of burials or a small historic family cemetery in the woods, they all need volunteers like me to care for them.
Each restoration is done with patience and respect — no harsh chemicals, no shortcuts. I use only safe, approved materials like D/2 Biological Solution and soft brushes, the same methods used by the VA and National Park Service, including Arlington National Cemetery.
Every cleaned stone tells a story again. Every upright marker stands as it once did — proud, dignified, and remembered.

Why I Need Your Help
I gladly give my time for free — this is my way of honoring the past. But the supplies aren’t free, and they add up quickly. Your donation will go to fund items like:
• D/2 Biological Solution – $50 per gallon
• Soft brushes and gentle cleaning tools
• Epoxy for fixing broken gravestones - $100 per tube set
• Tools for resetting and repairing
• So much more…
Every donation, no matter the size, helps me buy the supplies to continue this work. Together, we can make sure these resting places are treated with the respect they deserve.
