The Cost of Two Lungs

Hi there. My name is Meghann Palmer and I'm from Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada.  I think of myself as a pretty regular person. I work, I have hobbies, I have a boyfriend, and a pug named Puggles. However, I was disagnosed with a fatal illness when I was just an infant. I have Cystic Fibrosis. Basically, this means I have a genetic disease that causes increased mucus in the body,  but it's primarily a problem with my respiratory system and digestive system. In other words, I have chronic lung infections, sinus infections, and bowel blockages. For 34 years, all these problems have taken a toll on my lungs.  My lung function has decreased to 37 percent. It's time to consider a double lung transplant which must be performed in Toronto, Ontario because there are no lung transplant centers nearby.  Although the actual surgery itself will be covered by Medicare, all of my living expenses, while I wait in Toronto, will not be. My family cannot afford to pay rent for an apartment in Toronto while I wait and keep their home here in New Brunswick.  If you have any extra money to spare, please donate. No amount is too small.
