Help Support Dan Funk’s Family

I made this GoFundMe to support my friend  -- Dan Funk.

Due to recent and escalating medical issues, Dan is in need of a heart transplant.   As a result of his medical issues, Dan has missed a tremendous amount work, time and revenue at his self-owned business and he will likely miss more work time while he awaits his new heart and even more time while (hopefully) recovering from transplant surgery. 

Dan has not only been a softball coach and professional mentor to for me and my two sisters, but is also a dear family friend.  Dan has dedicated his life to coaching and mentoring young people on the softball fields of Harford & surrounding counties by encouraging them to be their best on and off the field.  Over the past 23 years, Dan has helped hundreds of young athletes achieve their goal of obtaining a higher education by earning collegiate scholarships.   Furthermore, Dan has been a mentor to many young players and has always driven them to chase their dreams, by encouraging and leading them to becoming accomplished young adults.   

Dan is married to his wife Annette, who works for Harford County as a School Bus Driver. He's also a father of four and a grandfather to six wonderful grandchildren.  The funds raised from this GoFundMe will go directly to Dan and his family to assist with medical expenses, as well as bills to support both his family and business. It is my hope that the Harford County Community will come together to lessen the burden of his impending surgery on his family as he goes thru the process of preparing for heart transplant surgery.   

Without a transplant or possibly a mechanical heart, Dan’s future is grim, so please say a prayer on his behalf.

Please help us to ease his burden by opening your hearts and giving back to a man who has given so much of himself to the youth of our communities.
