Dance Program for Young Refugee Women

Donation protected
Location: Shatila Camp, Beirut, Lebanon
Hosted at the Basmeh and Zeitooneh Arts and Cultural Centre

As young women aspiring for social change, our mission is to use dance as a medium to foster the well-being of refugee young women. We believe in harnessing the power of dance, a physical activity and artform, to cultivate the often neglected yet crucial components of womanhood: body confidence and awareness. We also aim to use dance to nurture creative emotional expression: we hope to empower young women by enabling them to share their story and message through dance/movement.

Based on this mission, we designed a short dance program titled ’The Girls Dance Movement’. It encompasses regular dance sessions in the genres of urban and contemporary, followed by the collaborative conceptualisation and execution of a short performance piece.

Donations will go towards:
- dance attire for the participants
- transportation costs for the participants
- performance costs (lighting, sound, logistics, etc)
- practice room costs (rent, electricity, generator, etc)

Thank you for supporting our cause!
