The Golden West Album!

Donation protected
WHAT:  I have been working since August on my twentieth independent release, entitled "The Golden West," with an accompanying lyric and coloring book.  It is a ten-song album which focuses on moving on from the past, a very personal and important record for me.  The production of the album is more dreamy than the previous full-length, and focuses on moving forward.  I am creating an illustration for each of the songs, which will come with the lyrics, in the form of an adult coloring book.   This will be my third coloring book and album.

WHY:  “The Golden West” album and coloring book focus on moving on from loss and difficulties.  I have experienced a great amount of loss in my life, and this album, more than any other has been my medium for moving on.  It is my hope that it will be a positive release for my fans, not only through music, which is proven to be healthful for the brain, but through the interactive act of coloring.  Recent trends have brought to light new studies on the positive effects of coloring on the brain, and I believe that combined with music, it is even more powerful.  This album and book are a major milestone for me, and I can’t wait to share them!

HOW:  Most of the album was tracked at Ninkasi Studios in Eugene, Oregon, where I stayed for two months in the summer of 2015. I was also able to record several tracks for the record out at the legendary Joshua Tree studio Rancho De La Luna, where my friend Dave Catching of Eagles of Death Metal laid down some guitar on my song "Only Ever You."  The illustrations for this coloring book were completed on my tour to The Netherlands.  We are in the final stages of getting this record done, and are out of funds.  We have just have a few more things that need to be completed. We need to track cello, viola and violin, edit the album, mix, master and press to vinyl.

In order to fund this project, I will need $1200 in musician session fees for the strings.  I need to pay $100 per song (10 songs) to have the album edited for a total of $1000, and the same with mixing ($1000) and mastering ($1000).  In total: $4200.

In the event that I should overfund the project, I will be able to have a more extensive PR campaign for the album, cover more territory, do promotional campaigns on social networks, and print up physical posters for promoting the album and coloring book. I will also be able to add several more instruments (brass, synth, vocal chorus) to the album.  The quality and scope of such a project increases as the budget increases.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my supporters! Music is my passion and has been since I was a child. I began playing the piano at age 4 and started writing songs at 5.  You are helping me to live my dream and to share my music and art with you. You are incredible!
