Their first ever holiday
Donation protected
For the last two years, since moving to KL, I’ve been teaching English to Myanmarese refugees. I love all of them dearly. These Chin children have so little but have the biggest hearts. Their passion to learn and be good students is infectious. I know when our crumbling, little makeshift school breaks up in late November, they will go back to spending their days sharing a depressing room with a handful of other families.
There is very little money, their families or carers are cruelly exploited because they have no status. They have no access to healthcare and play a very long waiting game to be moved to another country who will accept them.
While many of us live it large and indulge in Xmas festivities. My students certainly won’t.
I want to help and give them something they’ve never had before… a mini break away. I plan to take them in mid-December.
It will be nothing extravagant. Just a few days break in the jungle or a couple of hours drive out of KL to the coast. How cool would it be for them to stay in their own bed for the first time?
I intend to dig deep and pay for most of their trip, but I’m asking my friends and other caring souls to contribute a little to make these forgotten children feel special and live their first-holiday experience.
Thank you
I love you all
