Welcome everyone.
If I have invited you here, it is because I have a special place in my heart for you. We have sat together somewhere, usually in a provocative situation. Maybe you have come to me for help with something, counsel. Perhaps we stared into a gorgeous void together. Maybe we are collaborators. There are a few of few of you out there who I have fallen in love with or you have fallen in love with me. Maybe we sat together all night long under the stars. Maybe we held hands in a train station. Maybe I answered the phone when you called me in the middle of the night.
I know how to love tirelessly & I like to teach people how to do this as well. All to the best of our ability. My favorite things to do are to show up to the best of my ability & to rev that envelope to like 300% (when I can). I believe this kind of commitment is possible & often necessary at this time in the world.
I need to do two things in the coming months: to spend time writing* without creating a bunch of new projects & promoting myself (the way I feed myself) & I need to travel to South America to take my medicine studies to a deeper level, my version of a PhD level or a leadership training, in order to serve all of you & the world better, to help myself & my community face the challenges we are facing at this time.
There is no scholarship program for the kind of work I need to do. It's a cliche now to say it takes a village, but it does, & believing in the village will make absolutely everything work better & with more love. I believe in the village & I believe in you.
It is not easy to ask for help but I have been told that this is my medicine right now, to ask you boldly, nakedly.
If you are touched by my work, by my writings, by my presence & are in the capacity to help, I thank you from the bottom of my heart & that well is deep.
I am not going to make any parameters on your gift or list any incentives here. I ran a crowdfunding project many years ago & I know how naive we can be, how much we (or at least me) can promise in order to gain some freedom & quiet. I trust you to trust me.
Please offer what you can, what you feel comfortable with & in exchange, send me a prayer here or at theloveartist~at~gmail & I will write these prayers out, put them on my altar, pray for you.
Ask anyone, my prayers are rocket fuel.
It goes without saying, but I will say it here outloud, that I believe in the dreams of each & everyone of you & I hope that you are making requests of the world that may seem unreasonable. I will continue to watch your back in this regard.
Also, this is not the kind of campaign where I expect you to shoutout on your Facebook page or tell your friends. I think we can do this in community, as a family. In addition, I have some private letters out to particular people who can help in a variety of ways other than direct financial contribution.
That said, if you know someone that knows me & loves me near or far, in real life or virtual, & you think might love to give, please forward.

*I am getting ready for the plunge into a final edit after two deep crits with a similar diagnosis "This is a charismatic, intriguing book & it could be an even better book." Fingers crossed. I am ready.
