Theoris doesn't know that she has leukemia!
1 year and 4 months old Theoris has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
We are a modest Romanian family and we’ve been devastated when we found out that our little girl has leukemia. This disease came out of nowhere and it took us by surprise, it put our life on hold and everything changed. Our only goal at this moment is to save our little girl from this merciless blood cancer.
Theoris has been hospitalized in an oncological hospital in Romania but we want to give her all the chances that exist to fight this disease so we opted to treat her in Italy, in a well-known hospital that is specialized in this type of disease.
As parents we want to do our best for our children, for that we think Italy is our best choice, we cannot afford to relocate all the family to Italy as it is way over our pay grade and that is why we need your help. As little as you can if all the good-hearted people can contribute we are sure we can save our little daughter.
How did we find out? Theoris has a guardian angel…her older brother…
Leukemia is not a disease that gives you signs of illness from the beginning and many times it can be discovered when it is too late, unfortunately. We can say in a way that Theoris has been lucky because she has an older brother called Yustin who is 3 years and 4 months old he made us go to the doctor and we, as parents, took both our kids to the doctor.
How did it happen?
On the night of the 13th to 14th of January 2023, Yustin, her older brother had a fever constantly and he woke up many times during that night. He also woke up spontaneously from sleep calling “Help, mama, help!” and then vomiting. At that time his sister Theoris did not have anything, no fever, not anything. She only had a little fever during the daytime but it went away after some medication. For Yustin, her brother, the fever did not go away at all, even with medication.
Then we decided that we cannot do anything to make his fever go away so that morning we went to a kid's hospital in Bucharest to see if the doctor can prescribe some antibiotics for him or to see what it is going on. We are very scared to leave him with a fever as he had a convulsion when he was 1 year old and we constantly live with that scary feeling.
At this time Theoris did not give any sign of illness, no fever, no nothing. She was just a little pale but we thought that it is from the light bulb that is in the house, so we were not worried about her at all.
When we arrived at the hospital in Bucharest to examine her brother we decided to examine her as well, just to random check if she is okay.
Then the nightmare begins…
After a while. the doctor examined the analysis of both our children. One of the doctors called the father and told him that his wife and his little daughter needs to go to another hospital for further analysis and investigation. They did not tell if the things were good or bad or how bad it is. They just told him that the wife and the little girl will go in an ambulance to the other hospital so they can go directly to the emergency area to start the investigations faster without waiting in the queue line.
At that time the father went home with the boy without worrying too much thinking that she might have a simple virus or the type A flu but then his wife informed him that the other hospital was actually an oncological hospital and all the family has been alerted.
After some other medical investigations of the girl, the mother has been informed that the little girl has a 90% chance of having leukemia! This is the moment when the world as we knew ended, life as we knew has been destroyed and all the plans that we had for the future simply vanished.
After a couple of days, the girl did a transfusion and after more medical investigations the diagnosis has been unfortunately confirmed…
We feel that we woke up in a nightmare and we cannot get out of it, we have some deep questions that nobody has an answer to… Why us? Why our little girl? Why when she is so young? What did we do wrong in life so this can happen to us? …and many more…
With all the shame that we feel, we came up uncovering ourselves and we step up in front of you asking for help to relocate our family to Italy so we can save our little girl.
If you cannot donate, at least please share our story so it can get to as many people as possible. Only together we can save her…
May God bless you, your family and your children…
