The Cats of Pretty Paw Lounge

Who are we? Pretty Paw Lounge is a cozy cat-filled lounge in Rotterdam, New York, where every cat is adoptable and waiting for their forever home. Whether you're looking to adopt or simply need a place to unwind, you can relax, cuddle, and connect with our sweet feline residents.

Where is the money going? Donations to Pretty Paw Lounge help cover medical care for our adoptable cats, including wellness visits, vaccines, medications, dental procedures, and extra care for seniors. They also go toward cleaning supplies to keep our space safe and healthy, especially because we take in cats that may require medical quarantine for a period of time. Donations help provide maintenance for our washer and dryer (because cozy blankets are a must!) in addition to essentials like litter, cat food (including special diets for allergies or sensitive stomachs). We can’t forget to include the fun stuff: new toys, treats, and towers to keep our cats happy while they wait for forever homes.

Where do the cats come from? Our cats come from all over! We partner with local shelters and organizations to welcome cats of all ages: from newborns to seniors. Each one has a unique story, whether they were rescued, surrendered, or found as strays. At Pretty Paw Lounge, we provide a safe, loving space and meet each cat’s individual needs, whether that means quiet rooms, socialization, or special medical care to help them thrive.

How many cats do we currently have? We generally have between 25-30 cats at any given time. Just like people, every cat is unique! We carefully take note of their history (if any is given) and observe their personalities and body language to decide where they’ll feel most comfortable. Whether that’s in the main lounge with the “general population”, in a quieter staff only room with a few friends, or in a private, cozy space for our shyer cats. These individual rooms come decked out with towers, toys, and games to help with comfort and mental stimulation as they adjust at their own pace while simultaneously meeting with potential adopters.

What if I can’t donate, but I want to help? You can visit the café for free and see the cats through the viewing window, hang out with the cats in the lounge (for a small entry fee that helps with their care), become a volunteer, or support us by liking and sharing our posts on Instagram and TikTok (@theprettypawlounge).
