The Promissory Note Project

The Problem

Most specifically addressed in this series? Pernicious “race issues” that continue to plague the country and the multiple divisive issues that have grown from them. Most have strong opinions, but few if any know how to solve these issue. We know.

-Pervasive misinterpretation and subsequent misuse of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution. Ignorance of the law i.e. the Civil Rights Act (CRA) of 1866 producing plethora of symptoms that threaten the very existence of the republic.

-Persistent division among American citizens pushed by enemies, both foreign and domestic that wish to destroy the country.

The Opportunity

We believe the United States didn’t arrive here overnight and that this division has an actual root cause that can be found, hidden in plain sight, in our history. The founding fathers and framers of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution gave us “…a republic, if you can keep it” (Benjamin Franklin). The foundational documents of this republic were and are what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. called, “…a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir.” We are a self-correcting republic if we but follow its laws. We at the Promissory Note Project believe a very simple truth: A problem cannot actually be solved until it is correctly identified. Like any other family in crisis, one thing we can ALL do is go back into our history, no matter how unpleasant or imperfect, find where we got off track and apply the proper remedy. And that is exactly what we sought to do.

We followed the evidence and it led us to one of the most misunderstood, usurped and abused amendments, the 14th, and its progenitor, the CRA of 1866.

Because there has never been a full understanding and proper administration of this law as originally intended, it has gradually created the unwieldy, untenable situation that exists for ALL Americans today. And we can prove it. While our primary audience is that of the descendants of chattel slavery and Jim Crow survivors, this message is for ALL Americans, especially the rising generation.

The Solution

The Promissory Note Project, is an educational video series with an eye singular to the healing of the country through teaching and sharing historical information that is both meaningful and relevant to the aforementioned challenges and how it impacts us today. By viewing American History through the lens of Divine Providence, we can clearly see that our divided history has not served us at all, that it has indeed worked against us. Because of its sensitive nature and the volatile, divisive climate that exists in the country today, this can only withstand opposition if created and voiced by the Americans for whom the CRA of 1866 and the 14th Amendment were written: The descendants of chattel (human property) slaves and survivors of Jim Crow. This is our story to tell. This is our opportunity to stand for the republic whose ideals may have been originally withheld from us but, 150 years later, are STILL legally ours to claim and defend. This is our nation and birthright citizenship to save…and in so doing, defend the bedrock upon which this republic was constructed.

6. What Happens if Meet our Funding Goal?

Without funds, the work is at a standstill and we are restricted by what comes from our own personal budgets, we have experienced multiple delays so far. With help we can continue on our current proposed schedule to produce this work:

• 11/01/2018 – Press Release; Coin order submitted

• 12/01/2018 – Release of initial Promissory Note Videos via Promissory Note web page; Rewards delivered to contributors

Result After the Project is Complete

Our initial target audience in Phase I of the project is descendants of chattel slavery and Jim Crow survivors.    It seems odd to say, but the presentation of history without the division commonly seen today (i.e. Black History) produces a uniquely powerful perspective.  It explains how we ended up here and how we can avoid making similar mistakes in the future.  It is not just for some Americans, but for ALL Americans.  We also believe that once this body of work is completed, we will be seen as a reliable source for information and solutions that can be trusted. Interest and support generated by/reception of and demand for the completed program will let us know if it is prudent to proceed with Promissory Note as a non-profit or as a business. Either way, our vision includes 2 more phases for the project as an ongoing series addressing other root causes that plague the nation and recommendations for citizens regarding the action(s) they can take in helping and influencing this republic to reach its magnificent potential as originally intended for generations to come.

• PHASE II – Speaking engagements for the execution team to personally share their stories and experiences while producing and developing the project and further explanations of the lessons introduced in the project. Primary focus will be on individuals and their communities and churches.

• PHASE III – Further formal curriculum development that promotes a culture of “self-education” through multiple platforms (i.e. Web/digital, audio, book, etc…). We believe the most effective order for this is, individual citizens first, communities and churches second and all others third.
