Therapy for Grace
Donation protected
Grace has been in physical therapy steadily since one year old due to developmental delays and low tone. At three years old, she was diagnosed with hypotonic cerebral palsy. Grace’s parents were told that the only treatment for CP was therapy, so they got her into every therapy they could: physical,
aquatic, hippo, occupational, and speech. Due to limitations on visits from insurance, most therapies have been paid for out of pocket. In 2019, they were averaging $800 each month in therapy costs. In February and March of 2020, Grace started a new type of therapy at Oxford Recovery Center. The
therapy is intensive, 3 hours of physical therapy per day 5 days a week and an hour of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy each day. Grace is making gains in both physical and developmental strength with these treatments. The results have been amazing, but the financial cost is great. Each 4-week round of
therapy alone costs $14,250. Grace and her parents must temporarily relocate because it is an hour away from their home, so they also have the cost of lodging, food, etc. This year alone, Grace’s parents have spent over $50,000 on therapy and lodging. They have additional expenses that include
therapies at home, medications, medical equipment, and orthopedic footwear.
Grace’s parents are desperate to help their little girl achieve the best quality of life they can, but with the cost, they are limited to how many times they can take her back for more intensive therapy each year. Ideally, for the best outcome, therapy is recommended three to four times each year. They are doing the best they can but are unable to afford that amount out of pocket. Please consider helping Grace return to Oxford Recovery Center to continue treatments!
