There is SO much GOOD WE can do
I love the African Proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." I believe in the power of the collective. I believe that--together--we have the ability to be and create and share all the goodness this world has to offer and all that is good within us.
For those of you who don't know Mr. B (left) we adopted this 26-lb. 2-year old Tabby cat in August 2019 from Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia. His adoption photo from the Refuge made quite the buzz, and Morris received more than 3,000 applications, their website crashed, and news outlets from around the globe all wanted more Mr. B.
My boyfriend Chris and I have been blessed to add him to our home, which we lovingly refer to as The Fur Farm. We now have six cats, Mr. B, Buist, Boonce, Melky, Dodger, and Oliver, and as we've shared Mr. B and our Furmers, as we call them, and our home and our lives with the rest of the world, we've noticed a common thread over and over and over again:
Mr. B makes people REALLY happy. Like, unexplainably happy.
We've asked: Is it his face? His eyes? His cheeks? His demeanor? His size? No one can quite pinpoint The Thing, but we all know one thing: We love him and he makes us happy.
And so while Mr. B makes people happy, I've often wondered, What more could we be doing to help as many adoptable cats as possible find good homes, and how can we support the people and organizations that make it possible for us to find our furry soulmates?
I had a dream the other night we--you and I--raised $20K and found people and organizations and causes to support in this time of uncertainty...a means by which you and I, hand in hand, can collectively reach out together and help those who need it most.
Your donation, however big or small, will contribute to Mr. B's Acts of Kindness. We will divvy 100% of the funds raised into smaller amounts to give to those whose lives, livelihoods, work, or world's have been upended because of COVID-19.
Alone, I can make a small donation here and there. Together, we can make a massive difference for those who support and care for our feline friends.
Be sure to follow us on Instagram @chonkymrb where we'll be sharing updates regarding this fundraiser and how YOUR contribution is being put into action.
For questions, additional information, or to nominate a designee of these funds (please include details about their work with cats, a website, or where we can find them on social media), contact us via the contact function in this campaign!
Thank you ever so kindly for your generosity in these trying times. Your donation is about to set off a chain reaction of all kinds of GOOD that this world could really use right about now.
Thank you, we love you, and we'll catch you over on the 'gram soon!
Sarah, Chris, and The Furmers
