We are THERE SHE ROWS, 4 women, taking on 'The World's Toughest Row' - an unsupported 3,000-mile rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean, from La Gomera to Antigua to inspire women
and girls through sport.
We will be rowing 2h-on, 2h-off, 24h a day for the duration of the crossing. Living off freeze-dried ration packs, desalinated water and facing mother nature at her fiercest and finest.
We are four women - previously strangers - united by shared passion and values. We are all lucky enough to have benefitted enormously from sport throughout our lives; the friends it’s given us and the life lessons it has taught us.
1.3 million women dropped out of sports last year alone, missing out on its benefits both personal and professional, yet more than 90% of women in executive roles have played sport - proving that sport's impact is felt far beyond the confines of the pitch.
We want to use the row as a platform to inspire women and girls – to say, if we can cross an ocean in a tiny rowing boat (having never rowed before!) then you can be inspired and empowered to cross your own ‘Atlantic Ocean’. Whether that’s joining your first team, running your first park run, or rediscovering a sport you used to love – you can do anything you set your mind to.
We'll be taking on additional challenges in the run-up to raise funds and awareness for our partner charities: Women's Sport Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust, Endometriosis UK and Eating Matters- click the links below to find out more.
The operational costs incurred for the race are funded by our wonderful partners which means the money you donate here is going straight to charity. On behalf of our team and future sportswomen THANK YOU for your incredible support and generosity!
