Last week my mom, Theresa Hamilton was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. She is preparing to leave for Seattle to start treatments as soon as she is cleared to go this coming week. She is hopeful the doctors will be able to get it under control it through chemo and radiation and possibly surgery.
These are the reasons why I believe she deserves our help. She is one the most selfless person you could ever meet. She has hundreds if not thousands of hours planning auctions and coordinating fundraisers to help the sick and broken. Many times I would find her setting up weddings and baby showers for people she just met because they were short staffed or were on a budget. One of the things that has always impressed me about her is how she honors loved ones that have passed by, making sure the family got anything they needed, to help take off some of the burden so they could say goodbye with less stress. She has given countless hours of free hospice care for elders. She always made sure they always knew they were loved all the way to the end. She has helped so many of us, but she is a stubborn woman with old school beliefs that if you are upright and breathing you can always help someone.
Right now she is that someone.
The funds we raise will go to any bills and accommodations while in Seattle and to help with transport for treatments and any unforeseen living costs.
Anything you can give would be appreciated and please send messages to let her know we got her back.
