The Thermopolis Golf Course needs your help!
Contrary to rumors that the course will be closing this year, the members and the TGC Board are committed to keeping it alive. In an effort to save money, the TGC Board will operate the golf course without a club professional, and we will hire a greens-keeper and summer help.
Current infrastructure repairs and maintenance on water pumps, irrigation systems and a failing underground sprinkler system have created a financial hardship for our small community golf course.
With your help we can keep our golf course open and beautiful for our young athletes, locals, visitors and future generations. Whether you golf or not, our golf course helps bring people to our small community which provides an economic benefit to many local businesses.
Built in 1962, the Thermopolis Golf Course has a long-standing history in this community. It’s not JUST a golf course, it’s always been a multi-use location. The course has hosted hundreds of events and fundraisers over the last 57 years of its history. It provides the most beautiful venue in town for weddings, outdoor fundraisers, Christmas parties and private events just to mention a few.
In addition to those events, keeping our golf course open is imperative for our youth. The golf course provides a very important sports venue location for our Middle School and High School athletes. Our 2018 State Championship Golf and Cross-Country teams use our course for training and hosting their School tournaments and Cross-Country races.
The importance of keeping our community golf course open is not just a benefit for our golfers, its a benefit to the community as a whole.
It seems like every year we are losing yet one more piece of Thermopolis history. Every day we hear people talk about all of the great things Thermopolis "used" to have. Please help us ensure that the golf course doesn’t fall onto that constantly growing list.
