Chasing an Olympic Dream

FULL SPEED AHEAD - That is the only way I know how to go.  I am 53 years of age and I am working to defy odds and become an Olympic speedskater.

Speedskating takes an immense amount of sacrifice.  You have to be focused and totally committed if you want to succeed at the highest level of this sport.

I am working to make the 2018 Olympic team and go to Pyeongchang, Korea to represent the United States. I qualified to skate the US Olympic Trials in January in the 5000 and 10000 meter distances during the 2016-2017 speedskating season. I am asking for your support to enable me to train full-time and to make history.

My goal is to raise enough money to make a temporary move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to train full time at the Pettit National Ice Center. In the past I have commuted the ~300 miles from Champaign, IL to Milwaukee, WI to train 3-4 days a week. Intense training time is one of the keys to the success of this endeavor.

I am training six days a week, usually for 3 hours at a time. Being able to train full-time at the Olympic Training Center in Milwaukee would be ideal.

I hope you will donate and join me in fulfilling my dream.  Being age 53 and making an Olympic speedskating team will be history making. Together we can defy the odds!!
