These Holocaust Survivors NEED YOUR HELP!

Tax deductible
The New York Association of Holocaust Survivors needs your help, or they lose the roof over their heads!

About five years ago, I attended a ceremony at the UN commemorating the Holocaust and its atrocities. It was then that I got to listen to the late Zoltan Matyash of blessed memory, who passed away last year. When I found out that he and his wife were living under the poverty line in a shabby apartment in Brooklyn, we came together to support them and raise funds to refurbish their apartment with new furniture and appliances.

Zoltan was part of the New York Association of Holocaust Survivors in Brooklyn.
The New York Association of Holocaust Survivors was founded by more than 400 former prisoners of Nazi death camps and ghettos. The Association and its members are dedicated to keeping the Holocaust memory alive, raising awareness, and educating the public about the Holocaust. That includes visiting schools as well as inviting children from summer camps into their office space to share with them what they went through, where the students learn about the Holocaust directly from people who survived it.

Their mission is more critical now than ever!

The office space has an extensive, very unique photo exposition dedicated to the Holocaust and the Association's activities, which include taking part in major Holocaust commemorative events (such as the one at the UN). That space is used for conducting the Association's board meetings and as a social club where the members could assemble to discuss any activities, commemorate Holocaust events, share their memories and experiences with one another or with the invited children or adults, eat or listen to live music together. The location of the office space is of great significance because many of the members live in or are near the building complex, and for people of very advanced age, it plays a significant role.

We need your help in ensuring that the space continues to serve them. The Association needs $63,709.65, which will cover the space's rent for the next five years ($12,000 a year with a 3% increase per year).

Let's open our hearts and make sure these Jewish heroes, who've suffered enough, are able to come together in their twilight years. Not only do we owe it to them, but we are privileged to be there for them.

Let's shine the light on these survivors! Please support them as much as you can.
