Help produce THESE SAME WATERS, a thriller film!

I'm Benjamin Luk, an indie producer from Vancouver, BC!

My friend, writer-director Kat Savard, has written an amazing short with feature potential, and we need your help to make this a reality.

We've assembled a top-notch team, including heavy hitters like Leo-nominated cinematographer Chris Sebastian Joys, award-winning actors like Adam Muxlow from the BORDERLANDS universe, and then there's me! I'm taking on a creative producer role, and our last short TERROIR – featuring actors from THE LAST OF US and WATCHMEN – gave us the tools we need to make this new film a stunning success.

After years of either small roles or small projects, Kat and I are ready to move on up. Our goal for THESE SAME WATERS is to make a short so undeniably good, we go to Cannes.

To make the film, we're looking at raising $7,500 to cover our location, equipment rentals, our crew's labour, and our actors' rates. We're also funding a big chunk from our own pockets. We're stretching every penny for a beautiful film at the end.

Starring Diana Smendra and Shel Wyminga, THESE SAME WATERS is a queer romance-thriller about two young women – one of whom is faced with an impossible choice; life, or love. It's a story about relational trauma in queer relationships. It's an important story that deserves to be told.
