NORTH GAZA FOOD AND WATER PROJECTS

The Sun of Freedom's mission:

Palestinian led supporting those with disabilities (or who have become disabled), orphaned children, and those who face multiple displacements in Gaza with food, water and aid.

This is an emergency appeal for 2 on-going projects. We need to raise $21,000-$25,000 (£16,500-£19,800) to help 300 families with food parcels. Our 2nd project costs are $7500 (£5900) for clean water trucks over 30 days. Our end goal is to be able to have enough funds coming in consistently to keep providing food and water on-going.

We have applied for charity status in December of 2024 in England, and Wales and currently waiting for approval.

Full Transparency: During months of receiving no donations (August/September) one of our team members advanced funds which we had to pay back. This isn’t something we would normally do, but out of desperation and the need to feed people who were starving, and relying on us we decided as a team it was needed. We were consistently receiving at least $5000/week which came to a complete halt. We are now caught up and currently have £1113.66 (approx $1500 USD) in our reserve but PayPal has been holding it from our donations. We are currently appealing for it to be released. We have a fully documented spreadsheet of all our transactions if ever needed or requested. See screenshot of PayPal Funds being held. We hope to have this released before Ramadan.

1st Project: FOOD PARCELS

Each food parcel consists of these items.

• Cheese

• Oil

• Tea

• Sugar

• Salt

• Beans

• Lentils

• Flour

• Pasta

• Canned fish

• Chocolate

• Juices

• Dates

Each food parcel costs $70-$80 each per family (300 families) which totals $21,000-$25,000

2nd Project WATER TRUCKS

Clean water trucks for 30 days. Water trucks will distribute water to camps that do not have potable water.

• 1 truck of clean water costs $250-$300

• 30 trucks are $7500.00-$9000

• Each truck provides water for 1 day for 1 camp.

The Sun of Freedom Team:

The SOF team is made up of 4 people. Anas a volunteer located in Gaza, Angie, Gio, and Kat who have become family, and close friends with Anas. They all provide different life experiences and skills they are bringing to this fundraising team.

Angie has worked with non-profits as a fundraiser coordinator for many years in Canada, and the US and spent years in Haiti helping orphaned children after the 2010 earthquake. Angie also has her non-profit management certification from UIC in Chicago. She recently hosted Anas's GFM and raised funds for Anas and his family to have ready for evacuations, a new wheelchair, emergency medical treatment, and cost for living.

Gio is an HR professional who recently started raising funds for Spark for Innovation and Creativity. The funds raised were used to buy 60 tents, and food for displaced people in Gaza. Spark is an independent Palestinian organization that collaborate with several institutions worldwide including UCL University in London.

Kat believes in the power of art to inspire, connect, and heal. She is passionate about merging her creative talents with her commitment to social justice. Kat is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others, particularly the most vulnerable among us.
