The Tree Widow film was originally shot as a short which won Best Director Award for a short at the International Philadelphia Film Festival. The short the “Tree Widow” was also shown on Robert Townsend's cable show Black Family Network. The feature film was screened at the Garden State Film Festival where it received a standing ovation. The Tree Widow was also screened at the Milledgeville Film Festival in Milledgeville, Georgia. The storyline is universal and has proven to touch people no matter what the color or persuasion.

This GOFUNDME was created for the sole purpose of promoting and expanding THE TREE WIDOW PROJECT. All donations will be used for basic needs, seen and unforseen, including paying for:
- reshoot (for quality purposes)
- packaging & distribution
- actors and actresses
- PR and marketing

Our projects are Christian-based and promote Christian values, which include sexual abstinence (resisting fornication), caring for one another (i.e. the poor, the least among us) and being in this world but not of it when it comes to lifestyles that are not of God.
ABOUT THE WRITER/PRODUCER:
Rev. Alison Mills Newman is an actress who began her career during childhood when she made history, acting in Julia, America’s first TV series that starred an African American woman. Alison has also written, directed and produced films such as the Tree Widow which was released in 2015. This artistic dynamo has worked with legends such as Diahann Carroll, Maya Angelou and Leslie Uggams.
Rev. Newman is a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She is currently working on her masters degree and is an ordained minister. She has travelled the world serving the youth and wearing many hats as a preacher of the Lord, youth pastor, co-pastor, and evangelist. Rev. Newman says, "My only desire is to keep my eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith, and to help bring people to look to Christ as they give their hearts to Him."
