Dalilah's Kickin’ Leukemia
Donation protected
On January 23rd, after just over two weeks of our sweet Dalilah not acting or looking quite like herself, it has been confirmed that she has been diagnosed with Type B Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Our family has been trying to process all of the information coming at us and what Dalilah's treatment options will be. She's getting treated at the amazing Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and will be released around the beginning of February. She has been getting amazing care and the staff at this hospital do everything in their power to make this a positive, bright, and happy place for their young patients.
Dalilah's treatment will end up taking around 2-2 1/2 years, hopefully done in outpatient care. Once she comes home from the hospital, she has been advised to continue on like “normal life” as much as she possibly can. However, with three other small sisters at home and a lot of bills, travel expenses, and child care we are trying to provide as much support as possible for Stephanie and Kurt as their family tackles yet another obstacle.
The Tubergens are by far one of the strongest families I know and their faith and support within our community has become evident in the few days since Dalilah's diagnosis. Over the past 48 hours we watched an outpouring of love, prayers, and support from our friends and family and are so blessed and grateful to be surrounded by such an caring and generous community.
If you are able to, please contribute to help fund their bills, travel expenses, and other costs. This will allow the family to spend less time stressing and more time loving this sweet girl and her sisters!
