The Twins Journey

Donation protected

Twins, Bradley and Carter were born on the 21st of January at just 26 weeks by emergency caesarian at Caboolture Hospital. After a failed attempt to slow down the labour process, the boys arived in under two hours of Anna being admitted.

Bradley weighed in at just 2 pounds 6 1/2 ounces while Carter was only 1 pound 12 1/2 ounces - both boys were put into a helicopter and flown to Royal Brisbane and Women's hospital and put into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where they have since recieved around the clock care.

The twins have now been placed on their stomach's to assist with their breathing and have both done short stints of breathing unassisted. They are being tube fed breast milk and require various medications to ensure their condition continues to improve and help them grow.

Carter required a blood transfusion after arrival due to his low hemoglobin levels and seems to be doing better since but both boys are far from out of the woods!

And this is where you come in...

Neither Anna or Brendon expected the boys to arrive so soon and they are less than prepared for this long and uncertain journey ahead of them as the boys are expected to be in hospital for anywhere up to 10 or more weeks! It is uncertain at this stage if they will be able to stay in the Ronald McDonald House which means travel ad parking becomes very costly.

They have two older children together and between christmas and new year, back to school expenses and now only having one working wage, they are left with very little to cover parking, fuel costs, food, baby items and all other expenses involved in this very traumatic and exhausting ordeal.

They are seeking any donations possible to make this experience a little less stressful and will be beyond grateful for whatever is raised.

Regular updates will be posted to keep you all informed on how your donations are making a difference and the progress these little fighters are making.
