Community through creativity and accessibility

Donation protected
The Workshop is more than just a community art space; it is a hub for the creators, makers, dreamers, and doers in our community. It is a safe space to create, collaborate, and dream. It is an idea and a belief that our community is stronger together, especially when it has access to the tools, equipment, and resources necessary to turn those ideas and dreams into reality; into something bigger.

The Workshop opened in the middle of a pandemic but, after six months of paying rent on an empty building (because of COVID) we started with almost nothing but a pocketful of dreams, paper clips, and dryer lint and we’ve struggled every month to keep the doors open.

The Workshop, as it is now, is mostly a classroom space, but this is only a small part of a much bigger picture. Our mission at The Workshop is simple: build community through creativity and accessibility.  We want to support that mission through things like after school art programs, community gardens, a tool lending library, community open studio sessions, young entrepreneurship programs, grant programs, public art projects, and a scrap exchange.

As the pandemic continues to wreak havoc in our communities, however, attendance is low and our ability to justify the risk of indoor workshops and classes, even “socially distanced” ones, wavers, we need your help. The money we raise will go directly toward rent and overhead costs for the next six months as work toward transitioning The Workshop into a community owned and run organization and, with the help of local creators, makers, dreamers, and doers, create a plan to carry The Workshop into the future where we truly can create something beautiful.

I love our community, believe in our community, and I am humbled by, and grateful for, your support ❤️
