The Third Place: Coffee.

Donation protected
A donation-based coffeehouse that provides jobs and entrepreneurial experience for young people from marginalized communities was robbed and vandalized last week. Graffiti left behind indicated that The Third Place could have been targeted because it is housed in the basement of an LGBT-friendly church near uptown Charlotte.

The Third Place is part of the social justice ministry of Caldwell Presbyterian Church, an inclusive church with a diverse congregation. Caldwell partners with QC Family Tree, an intentional community in one of Charlotte's marginalized neighborhoods, and Friendship Trays. All proceeds from The Third Place coffeehouse are used to provide jobs and career opportunities for West Charlotte youth.

Your donations will help us create more security for The Third Place, as well as to replace coffee; coffee-making equipment; sound equipment, a projector and screen used for special events held in the space; as well as equipment stolen from children's Sunday School classes in the church.

Thank you for your support! We hope you'll come by soon for a cup of coffee or tea.
