Help Marguerite Fight Cancer!

**This is the same GoFundMe you may have read about a week ago. It has been updated to more accurately reflect the current circumstances.

Hello everyone,

The following is a message from my sisters and I-

Our family has endured great struggle in the past, however we have always fought through it together. We are all so relentless and thankful for that every day. But our most recent battle is one we cannot fight alone and therefore, we have created this page to welcome any and all support.

In late May our mom, Marguerite, was given the frightening diagnosis of Stage 4 Kidney Cancer, at just 55 years old. It has already metastasized faster than any of us could have imagined. This came completely out of left field for both she and our family. They found the cancer during a yearly check up at her PCP.

This has been by far one of the most fast-paced and terrifying ventures into the unknown for all of us. She went from living an average life to one filled with dozens of appointments, blood draws, scans, biopsies and most recently, a surgery.. all in such a short period of time.

As some people may know, this is not the first major battle this amazing woman has fought. In 2009, she suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and stroke that nearly killed her numerous times. She shocked her own neurosurgeon when she made it through- even he didn’t think she’d make it! But here she is to fight another battle almost 13 years later.

She is currently scared, overwhelmed and beyond exhausted, as is the rest of the family. However, amazingly, it is Marguerite who has been the head cheerleader throughout this journey so far. She reminds our family every single day that she is a fighter and so are we- that we always have been, and always will be.

The one thing we unfortunately cannot fight on our own is the cost that will come with the tests, scans, biopsies, surgeries and treatments. My sisters and I are trying our best to stay on top of everything we can and asking for help is the last thing we want to do. However, if we can take some of the financial worry off of our plates, it would make a world of difference.

With the help of so many generous donations thus far, we have already been able to purchase a new reclining chair that will be a surprise to Marguerite when she returns home from her current hospitalization. Due to the masses, it is difficult for her to get comfortable; this will do wonders so thank you! All funds received moving forward will be utilized on medical bills and/or care she may need.

We know every single one of you reading this is also battling your own struggles and we understand that you may not be able to contribute financially; we are just humbled that you have taken the time to read this. If all you can provide is a positive thought and/or prayer for our mom and our family, that is more than enough and very much appreciated!

Lastly, this is something we are doing as her daughters on our own because the last thing we want her worrying about is finances. We would appreciate immensely that you do not reach out to Marguerite on your own to extend your love and sympathy without first asking one of us if it is an appropriate time to do so. She is still in the stages of grasping that this is even her new reality.

We are aware that this may be the way some people that are close to our mom are finding out about this tragic news, as it has happened so quickly. We apologize if that causes any sadness or frustration and are open to having that discussion with you. However, we are trying to keep her as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

Please.  If you believe in a higher power- whoever that higher power may be. I beg you to pray to them for our mom. ❤️

With endless love and thanks,
Alexandra, Elizabeth and Caitlin
