Help this artist and his family survive

I am fundraising on behalf of my friend whose work in art and drama has connected us and our other friends. He has been through a lot for over a decade now and deserves the chance to survive, to have his brother's kids out of a tent and safe, and for his mother to get the medical treatment she needs.

These funds raised will cover the per-person costs to leave Gaza for Egypt where his mother can get decent treatment(8 people).

“My name is Mohammed Khorwat, and I am a resident of northern Gaza. My home was destroyed in 2014, and I did not receive compensation to rebuild it until 2023. So, I started building it at my own expense. It was just about ready to live in, but I never got the chance before this war came and destroyed it all over again. I am an artist who works in the field of theatre as an actor, dancer, and drama teacher for children. I was displaced from Beit Hanoun to Jabalia and spent 45 days amidst destruction and hunger in northern Gaza. I was displaced to the Bureij refugee camp, then to Khan Yunis, and finally to Rafah. Each time we have been displaced we have seen calamities. I have been homeless since 2014. I am writing this while in a tent where we are exposed to the terrible conditions of unspeakable cold, painful hunger, and every form of disease. We are concerned the situation in Rafah will worsen. I am with my mother, my brother, his wife, and their 4 children, 3 boys and one girl. My mother has heart disease and diabetes, which have been worsened by the conditions we are being put through. We all need to travel to Egypt as quickly as possible for her health and to keep us all safe.”
