Our friends at Kam Pei 2 need your help!

SAD UPDATE:

John passed away Saturday night. Please keep Vanessa and the girls in your thoughts as they go through this sad and tragic time. May kind John rest in peace.

For years, John and Vanessa have worked hard, 6 days a week, to build their business. The Pandemic hit them hard but they regrouped. John put his heart into the food and Vanessa shared her heart with us, her customers. Whether dine in, take out or delivery, we all knew that we were getting the best and freshest food and often a little extra! They got to know us and genuinely loved their customers and friends. The business recovered and thrived.

However, on the morning of June 27th, John suffered a massive stroke!

He has not regained consciousness and is in Intensive Care in Queens. The restaurant has remained closed ever since. John may not come back and things do not look good for him.

They invested themselves in the business and now they are in trouble. The restaurant has been their entire livelihood and it has supported them and the team we have come to know and appreciate.

Vanessa wants to reopen the restaurant but without revenue and with mounting medical expenses, this is going to be a challenge. She has hired a chef she has worked with in the past, but of course this will now be an additional expense. Rent, utilities and other bills need to be paid. Ingredients and supplies have spoiled and everything needs to be restocked. As the restaurant has been unattended, when Vanessa went to the restaurant for the first time yesterday, she found some water damage and a leaking icemaker which may need to be replaced. Also the airconditioning unit has quit and may need repair/replacement.

John and Vanessa epitomize the American dream and have cast their lot with us, their customers and friends. They need our help. Please consider making a donation to help them!
