This firefighter is fighting for his life.

My brother-in-law, Todd Willever, and sister, Lisa, have always been the kind of people who go out of their way to help others. Whether it’s supporting friends in need, volunteering in the community, providing kids with free books, or simply being there for anyone who needs a hand, they give so much, without hesitation, and often without being asked.
Now, they need our help.
Todd, who recently had to retire after 30+ years as a firefighter, is facing the greatest challenge of his life right now. In 2022, Todd was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, or GBM, a Grade 4 malignant brain tumor. In September, Todd was told that this most aggressive tumor had returned. There are no effective treatments for a recurring GBM.
Except one.
DCVax L—a personalized immunotherapy in clinical trial at UCLA—has the potential to save Todd’s life.
To be enrolled in the trial, Todd and Lisa must relocate from NJ to Los Angeles for at least 3 months. The costs of such an extended stay—away from their 3 children—will create a financial burden at a time when they should focus all of their energy on Todd’s health and fighting the brain tumor.
Todd and Lisa never ask for help, but I also know there are many people whose lives they have touched who would love to support them during this challenging time. We are reaching out to family, friends, and the brain tumor community to help ease the financial strain so they can focus on what really matters.
A contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this time.
Together, we can help my brother-in-law, Todd, and his family through this fight.
With gratitude,
Paula
