This Hard Working Man Needs Help
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Carlos Lopez, and I have been a hard-working man since I was 16. I earned my keep. Sometimes I would even have two jobs to make ends meet. I have been married for 22 years and am blessed with three children and five grandchildren. For the majority of my marriage, I have faced some significant medical challenges, and in 2009 these challenges almost took me out. Severe diabetic foot wounds, two partial toe amputations, bone removal from my big toe, plasmapheresis, and two fistulas, just to name a few. Until February 4, 2021, my 53rd birthday, my body was able to recover from these setbacks. February 2021 brought the worst foot wound I have ever had (took 5 months to fully recover), a severe UTI, blood infection, enlarged prostate, and the removal of a tennis ball-sized cyst from my tailbone. The physical demands on my body from working worsened my medical episodes throughout the years, but, again, I could recover. My ailments have forced me to resign from both my jobs, and I am currently trying to get disability benefits. My wife is the only one since February who has brought in any income. We have entirely depleted our savings. The silver lining to this cloud would be without the physical demands on my body; my health has improved tremendously. My A1C is in the normal range, and I have not had a podiatry flare-up. I am fundraising to help with bills, our mortgage, and groceries. This ask does not come easy and has humbled me to my core. My family and I would be appreciative of any help and your prayers.
