Donation protected
David is a homeless man I met on the street last week rocking back and forth with a sign in front of him that said "God please help me". I stopped to talk tohim and see if he was okay, he told me he has low white blood cells and because of this he is getting a lot of infections and has no money for his medication. He told me that people used to give some money to him but now with covid nobody wants to go near him because they are afraid. My plan is to help him get medicare so then we can maybe get him on welfare but it's a little harder than I expected since he has no official documents.
The ideal situation for David would be to find a clean home where he can regularly shower so that he can heal and so that he has a place where he can stay warm during the winter.
He is very dedicated as you can see in the video that I posted, he built that shelter all himself and even managed to build a fireplace from scratch, he's a very intelligent man who also cares about the environment and animals as well. He had only one picture up on his wall and it was of him and his dog named Diamond from a few years back, when he got sick he made the decision to find a better home for her because he was not able to provide and knew that she deserved a warm home where she has plenty of food.
So far a couple of people have donated blankets, a jacket and some clean clothes that we were able to bring to him which he was very grateful for and appreciated a lot since the nights are starting to get colder.
The donations provided will be given to David to help pay for his medication for his ears, liquid food (he doesn't have teeth and cannot eat solid stuff), a membership to the ymca so that he can take regular showers, and whatever other products/supplies he is in need of. If we are able to get even more donations we will hopefully be able to find David a home sooner than expected.
