My name’s Joe and I’m so glad that you came across my gofundme! I started this to raise funds for my top surgery.

I am a refugee who had to leave my home and country because of my transphobic and abusive family and my country’s laws that do not protect me and condemn my existence as a trans man.

I suffered a lot of trauma and abuse because of who I am. This is me trying to build a life for my self and trying to finally be comfortable in my own skin after so many years of dysphoria. This top surgery will only be the beginning of the rest of my life and my road to recovery and rebirth into who I was always meant to be.

I cannot share my name or more personal details for my own safety, I hope that you can understand that.

I experience gender dysphoria which to me is a detachment from parts of my body. The NHS has become increasingly known for gatekeeping transhealthcare, and the waiting lists can take at least 6 years for me to be considered for top surgery. It is my basic right to be able to access the healthcare I need, but as a trans man it is very difficult to do that.

As a result of everything i have mentioned so far I am also struggling with my mental health. I am still waiting to receive help from therapists to help with my symptoms. My poor mental health, in addition to my gender dysphoria, is almost unbearable to handle.

I have a very low income (as I am not allowed to work due to my medical condition), so I don’t have the chance to save my own money and pay for this life changing surgery on my own. Any money you can donate to help me is deeply appreciated.
