Dave Needs help getting an off road wheelchair!

Hi folks,

A few years ago I was diagnosed with not one rare disease, but two! a Kidney disease and a form of Motor Neurons Disease (ALS).

For a bit of background context, I am a keen outdoorsman (hunting, bushcraft and off-roading) as well as a military vehicle/history buff. I was a Tank driving instructor and led a very active lifestyle.

These diseases have been slow and debilitating, causing major atrophy over the years, leaving me weak and my left side half usable. I will never get better and will only ever get worse, eventually. one leading to upper motor neurons, which is terminal.

Over the last 2 years expecially, I have seen my mobility almost vanish, having to give up all my outdoor activities and leave work. This has been a big blow to me both physically and mentally as it formed such a big part of my life. It has become clear to me recently that I could have at least some of this lifestyle back with an All terrain wheelchair. Those who have donated already will notice this change, my needs are such that such a 4x4 mobility scooter is no longer viable given the cost and time crunch!

A wheelchair that is heavy duty is now more suited to my everyday needs as well as going forwards whilst maintaning independance and outdporsy lifestyle!

It would allow me to not only go off-roading, bushcrafting and hunting again, but also into the mountains with Family on camping trips which have been impossible since 2020. Having one of these would transform my life and give back what I've lost.

The funds will go to purchase the all-terrain wheelchair, It'll be a unique piece of equipment made specially to use in the most arduous of environments as well as around the town and shows and even back at work.
