Thank you for being here.
It isn’t always easy asking for help. I often have to get over myself regarding this issue that is indeed an issue for me.
This is a time I need a little more help than desired. And I trust that one day soon I will be on the opposite end helping others who are in need. I know this because I’ve been there before.
I am here today asking for any help possible. A little goes a long way in my opinion. And if you find yourself in a similar position as me and cannot give at this time, I am honored and appreciative that you are here reading this. Because maybe this post will inspire you to ask for the help YOU need when it’s time.
Everything is temporary.
Back to why I’m here.
I have a daughter who is 4 years old. She has developmental delays due to a rare gene mutation that she was born with. One of the expressions of this mutated gene are seizures. She was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms when she was 6 months old. It has recently been brought to my attention that she has progressed to Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome.
There are special things I require in order to serve my daughter best. One of the three items I am in need of today is a VitaClay (mine broke). A VitaClay is a clay pot that can slow cook and pressure cook at the same time. It is was I use to make my daughter’s chicken stock which is the staple of her diet. She is on the GAPS diet: Gut And Psychology Syndrome. It is the one thing that has helped with seizure control. Not one medication has done this for her.
Another item is a new stroller. The one I currently have has worked beautifully. However, and this is kind of funny to me, both tires are flat and so I keep a pump in my trunk that I use each and every time we go out together. The stroller itself is giving out in its ability to close/fold. A common issue with this model. Needless to say, it has reached its end.
Though my daughter Roca is capable of standing and taking a few steps, she is considered non-ambulatory (unable to walk on her own). There are a couple of really wonderful strollers on the market that can accommodate my daughter’s age and height. (she is very tall!) However, they can be very expensive.
The last thing I need for my daughter is a specially-built bed. This is an idea that came to me and I am very excited to work closely with a woodworker/carpenter to create something that will keep my daughter safe.
Again, thank you for taking the time to read this. And thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
Exodus 17:12
Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset.
