Sweet Baby Fights Stage V Bilateral Wilms (Cancer)

Let me tell you about my nephew who is 16 months old, has spent the last few weeks in the hospital, and has yet to return home.

On August 7th, 2022 Kaneko was aroused from his sleep in excruciating pain. His mother took him to an emergency facility where a mass the size of a softball was located on his right kidney. He was rushed to the children’s hospital where further examination revealed the spread of the tumor to his left kidney and liver. This is considered Stage V Bilateral Wilms (cancer). 

This has had a huge impact on his family emotionally and financially. At this time, we know that Kaneko will have a long journey ahead of him to include specialized care, several months of chemotherapy, and eventually surgery. Without receiving these medical necessities Kaneko’s chance to continue life will cease.
