THIS IS GHANIM

Imagine running for your life, fleeing your country and everything and everyone you know and love. Running not because you have done anything wrong, but because you are an innocent victim of war.

Imagine being on a leaking boat at sea with 85 others filled with fear, not knowing if you will arrive alive at your destination.

Imagine finally making it to safety, only to be imprisoned in appalling conditions for over a year, being told to delete your dreams, watching your friends physically and mentally falling apart with some taking or trying to take their own lives in desperation. All this whilst you try and cling to the small light of hope that others are trying so hard to extinguish. The hope to be free and the hope to see your family again.

Imagine finally getting your freedom but still being ripped apart from your family. Not seeing your 3 children or wife for over 7 years.

Imagine you have a horrible life changing accident that leaves you burnt, broken and without your arms and clinging to life.

This is not a Hollywood movie.

This is not a series of events happening to multiple people.

This is one person.

THIS IS GHANIM.

His story is far from over. Ghanim now needs our love and support to help him recover from multiple surgeries.

Even in his darkest times, Ghanim has never lost hope and even helped and inspired so many others to not give in, to not lose hope.

NOW IT IS OUR TIME TO HELP GHANIM.

All funds raised through this GoFundMe page will go directly to Ghanim by way of direct funds transfer from our campaign team member Melissa Penn to aid with medical expenses, rehabilitation, adaptive housing and support to hopefully one day, see his family again and if he does to help support them with the basic necessities in life.

GHANIM NEVER GAVE UP HOPE

And now neither must we.

About Ghanim's accident

A life changing accident in November 2018 left Ghanim without both arms. He has had numerous surgeries to keep him alive and prepare him for the first ever operation for 2 robotic arms. Doctors remain in disbelief that he survived.

Ghanim was holding a steel bar when he was struck with high voltage from a nearby electricity pole. It shot through his arms and made its way out of his hip and the top of his back, leaving parts of his body burnt to the bone. At 36 years old, with 3 young children, he became a double amputee. Ghanim’s home is now the hospital.
