Help Molly Fight CANCER
Donation protected
Thanks to generous support, Molly was able to get further testing for health issues that can’t be tied to Lupus.
Further testing has revealed Molly also has Cancer. Your previous support helped Molly get the testing that discovered the Cancer.
It’s devastating and also may answer why Molly has been suffering for the past few years in addition to Lupus. One thing about autoimmune disease— you get written off as a hypochondriac or med seeking when your symptoms don’t align with a doctor’s understanding or education.
Molly will receive two surgeries in August followed by treatment. Once pathology is complete, Molly’s treatment plan will be finalized and will likely include chemo and radiation.
Molly isn’t only Cancer and Lupus though. She’s an artist in every sense of the way: in life, work, her connection to people, and how she sees and shows up in the world. She used to do body work, not only to fund her life and art, but also because she deeply loved caring for people despite how it wore on her own body. She has so many ideas to create work that brings beauty into the community and brings the community together. One thing holding Molly back is being unable to depend on her body, not only day to day, but hour to hour.
That’s why your help is needed. Molly is depleted both physically and mentally from multiple trips to the hospital over the past few months (heck, years). While she hasn’t been able to work the past three years, she’s managed. Your help will help her with basic needs until she’s expected to get disability (It’s been over a year so far) and other help in place.
If you know Molly, she’s likely made
you double over laughing and left you ugly crying. She’s probably made you feel like the ravishing beast you are, just by tossing her orange and magenta glow your way. You also know she can rock a look... A poncho, cat leggings, a fox hat and 6” Chloë platforms (all vintage) in winter? Heck yeah, says Molly! And she’s surely taken you on an adventure like no other, either with her storytelling, showing you the impressive drink selection at Cumbie’s, taking a party raft in questionable waters, going for bike rides, or driving your ass to find ingredients to make something she had on her travels. She can make anything fun.
If you don’t know Molly, know that she’s auntie to more kids than Nick Cannon shares DNA with: and they adore her! She’ll make you go to a specific restaurant and only order potatoes, but served three different ways. And you’ll wonder, “Why have I lived so long without potato three ways?” And, the way she can go on about southern cheesy biscuits, you’d think they were the last sunset she saw after spending a sordid summer in Greece.
But those aren’t the only reasons to donate. Donate because this could happen to any of us. Donate because this system isn’t built for people like Molly. It’s not built for folks who’s bodies become undependable and can no long be used to gain capital for necessities. Donate because this could happen to any one of us and we need each other to survive.
And if you’re unable to donate, we totally get it! Just share the link to this GoFundMe to any and everyone. It’s really the most powerful way to help!
Many thanks if you’ve read this far. You’re a good egg.
