Thomas County Deputy Sgt. Frankie Rollins Shot
Donation protected
This fundraiser was coordinated by Josh Smith, with the permission of Frankie Rollins, and all proceeds will be turned over directly to Frankie.
On Friday, December 2, 2022, Sgt. Frankie Rollins, a Thomas County Deputy, was off duty at a family gathering when he attempted to stop an altercation and was shot three times. Frankie was shot twice in the head and once in the back. The subject, whose name is intentionally being left out of this, was apprehended by law enforcement on the same night and now faces multiple felony charges.
When Thomas County Deputies arrived on the scene of the shooting, the decision was made by Sgt. James Vick to not wait on EMS and to put Frankie in the back of his patrol car and take him to the emergency room. Frankie was stabilized once at the hospital and has been in the hospital ever since.
On Monday, December 5th Frankie underwent surgery to remove the two rounds from his head/neck and the third round from his back. Frankie is performing physical therapy every day and has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
Since the incident took place while off duty, the medical bills have fallen on Frankie. With every passing day, those bills are increasing exponentially.
It is my intent to raise money to help lighten the burden of the medical costs and to allow Frankie to have one less thing to worry about during the holidays and while he recovers.
Donations can also be made at the Thomas County Sheriff's, at 921 Smith Avenue. If you choose to donate in person, please see Josh Smith or Charity Manwaring at the front desk of the Sheriff's Office.
