In Loving Memory of Thomas James Highlander
Donation protected
It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of my father, Thomas James Highlander. After a 3 year fight with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer, he passed quickly and peacefully at home surrounded by family yesterday afternoon, 9/4/2023. Our rock, our strength, our best friend, our Mr. West Virginia. A loving husband, Daddy, Granddaddy, son, brother, and friend. A good, strong, loyal, determined, intelligent, supportive, and caring man - the best. We’ll miss you every single day until we are reunited, but we’re thankful you have your new glorified body and are no longer in pain. We’ll cherish the incredible memories we’ve made together and pass them along to all future generations. Thank you, Daddy, for always pushing us to be the best versions of ourselves whether it be personally, academically, or in sports and cheering us on along the way. You taught us valuable life lessons that we’ll carry with us daily. John Denver’s song Take Me Home, Country Roads says, “Almost Heaven, West Virginia…Country roads, take me home to the place I belong.” Daddy, we know you’re home in Heaven now. We love you so much. ❤️
