My name is Heather.

My mum Anne Whyte who is 67 had never met her dad. He was married to my gran but died in the back garden coming home from the pits when my mum was months old. My mum was then raised by my gran and her step dad all her life. Later in life she found out the information and attempted to find where he was buried, my gran had dementia we are a very very small family so there was no other family alive to help us find this.

A few months ago after a lot of emails to and from the council etc we found where he was buried. It was back in his birth town of Kilsyth in an unmarked grave. We believe this was due to money all those year ago that a grave stone could not be put down.

2 weeks ago my mum who has bad health was diagnosed with lung cancer and given a short time left with us. I have managed to take her out to see her dad’s grave but obviously was upset to see that it didn’t have a head stone.

I would absolutely love to try and get one fitted for her to go and visit before her time. I’m also hoping to fund raise to help stay positive in this very very emotional time.

I have priced the cheapest gravestone I can find and would be grateful for any donations to this cause.
