Tragic Fire at Thompson Auto Care

Donation protected
Attention to all:

On 12/30/2023 at approximately 06:39pm Fire departments in Thompson, CT and Surrounding Areas responded to a structure fire at Thompson Auto Care. This shop is owned by John Sharpe who is the Chief of Community Fire Company in Thompson, CT.

A friend was working on his vehicle on the off hours and the vehicle caught fire, he did everything to attempt to put the fire out, but due to fuel, oil, and other products in the shop, the entire garage caught fire immediately. Thankfully the mechanic inside was able to get to safety.

This shop has been opened for years, this was John’s pride and joy. John has insurance for the building, and vehicles that were damaged, but currently he will be out of work due to the severity of the fire.

We are asking that if it is possible, if you can donate whatever you can so that we can help John and his family get through this tragic situation. We need to make sure he is still able to pay his bills, put food on the table, and keep the roof over his head for his family.

We appreciate all the support from the Fire Departments that responded to the scene, our volunteer firefighters and friends/family including your support as well!

Respectfully,
