Thong family’s fight against COVID.

As you all know, 2020 has been a tough year. On October 17th my uncle got air flown to Sanford Medical due to breathing difficulties/other medical issues. Later that evening we discovered he tested positive for COVID and they had also found two clogged arteries in his heart. Not to mention his diabetes had worsened. The following day, October 18 we got the news that our grandma also tested positive for COVID, which that same day she got admitted to the ER due to breathing complications which interfered with her asthma, but got discharged the same day after she got fluids and medication to control her asthma. Wednesday October 21 my grandma had to return to the ER due to breathing complications yet again. She then had to be admitted because her condition had worsened. As for my uncle his oxygen levels were dropping and had to be moved to the icu. He then stayed there for two days to be monitored and was later discharged to a regular room. Thursday October 29th my uncle got discharged from Sanford and was able to come back home and rest to prepare himself for an upcoming surgery on November 18th to remove the blocked arteries. He now has to wear a life vest 24/7 up until his surgery day. As the days went by my grandma’s condition had worsened, but the hospital was doing what they could to help her feel comfortable and help her with the pain. During this time she wasn’t allowed any visitors which broke our hearts but we all knew it was because she had to be quarantined. The morning of November 1st my uncle had gotten the call that my grandma didn’t have much time left, and her children were able to go say their goodbyes. After everyone had said their goodbyes, less than an hour later our beloved, caring, compassionate grandma had gained her wings to heaven. Exactly 8 years since her husband and son had passed in 2012 she is finally reunited with them in heaven.
During this difficult time, anything would be greatly appreciated. This would go towards funeral costs for our beloved grandmother and the rest towards my uncle’s upcoming medical bills. Due to COVID we ask you kindly, to let us have this moment with just our family and close friends.
