My name is Michael Carnes, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of FESCO, Ltd., a family/veteran owned company based in Midland, TX. Our purpose for writing today is to share the unfortunate news that one of our employees, Thorn Theriot, has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia in April 2023. Thorn's story is one of determination, hard work, and a promising future that has been abruptly interrupted by this devastating illness.

At just 19 years old, Thorn began following in his father's footsteps and embarked on a career in Slickline. Starting in the shop, he spent countless months showcasing an exceptional work ethic, rigging up and down to earn an opportunity to pursue his dreams. With unwavering dedication, Thorn progressed to the role of a Wireline Trainee (WLT). Realizing the potential of his chosen path, he made the heartfelt decision to uproot his life, along with his fiancée Karlie and their one-month-old daughter, Ivey, and move to Midland, fully investing in his career.

Thorn's hard work paid off, and he quickly advanced to become a Wireline Assistant (WLA), even running jobs under supervision within just a year and a half of starting his young career. However, fate had different plans for Thorn. After numerous doctor visits, his young family received the devastating news of his Leukemia diagnosis. Without delay, Thorn was admitted to MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, where he will commence an arduous 17-month treatment regimen.

The financial burden associated with this unexpected life-altering event is substantial, with typical monthly treatment costs averaging $10,000.00.
