Nicole Christodoulou, ParaMatilda

My name is Michael, I’m a stroke survivor and operator of The Disabled CEO website. At The Disabled CEO, we strive to support worthwhile fundraising projects in the stroke universe. Our first fundraising project is for an inspirational young woman called Nicole.
At the age of 21, ParaMatilda Nicole Christodoulou suffered two strokes that left her paralyzed down the left side of her body. She had to relearn to walk amongst multiple other challenges from her stroke. From this situation, her determination to recover was rewarded when she was selected for the Australian ParaMatildas team last year.
Unfortunately, ParaMatildas players do not receive government funding. The players play for the love of the game. And it is an expensive passion. Nicole calculated that including time off work, training, petrol, boots, gym membership, and unpaid work representing the team adds to a whopping $18,000 per year.
Nicole is looking for a long-term individual player sponsorship but at this stage, we are raising funds for the immediate. Starting with the Para Asian Cup being played in Melbourne from 31 October to 12 November 2023.
Donations via this GoFundMe are very welcome. Additionally, there is a charity soccer round-robin friendly competition being played at Gardiner Park in Glen Iris (Melbourne) on Sunday 8 October. All funds raised via GoFundMe and the charity soccer day all going to Nicole. Nicole is also an inspirational motivational speaker and speaks at corporate and community events.
Please dig deep.
