Thoughts For Ned Conner

To those who were not aware , Ned suffered a recent major stroke effecting his left side. His family is faced with specific costs to prepare doorways and increased medical expenses not covered by insurance.
Ned is a Navy Veteran and served with honors for 21 years before retiring as a commander. He has always stopped what he was doing to help others throughout his life .
As a friend of 40 plus years I ask if you can please contribute to this go fund me account to help Ned and his family get through his recovery and rehab .

On April 14, 2021, two days before his 71st birthday, Ned had a massive brain bleed (hemorrhagic stroke). He was on blood thinners, which made the hemorrhage much worse. During his 4 week stay in Neuro ICU he survived aspiration pneumonia, then chemical pneumonia, had a drain in his head, a tracheotomy on a ventilator, and a feeding tube. The doctor said "his body could not survive one more thing." After 3 weeks in a step-down unit, he is in Baylor Rehab Dallas.
Thankfully, the trach and feeding tube are out which was a huge step, but his progress is miraculous. He is able to talk and swallow food and water, is breathing on his own. He is still getting intense therapies. Plan is to be discharged on June 29 with all those therapies and Home Health. The stroke left him paralyzed on the left side, and there is hope that he can (with a lot of therapy, work, determination, and prayer) regain some use over time. He will require constant assistance at home using personalized wheelchair and mechanical lift, etc. Modifications of the home to make it wheelchair accessible and meet his needs.
