Help critically Injured Paramedic Tammy and Family

This GoFundMe was created in hopes of providing some assistance to Tammy McDaniels and her family in their time of need. This GoFundMe was made with the blessing and the assistance of Tammy's family. Updates come from Ashley Jacobs who is Tammy's daughter. Since Tammy is hospitalized in Montgomery her family has to make long commutes to be by her side. All donations assist them with the hardships of having a family member being hospitalized for what appears to be a very long recovery. Tammy was involved in a wreck while at work early in the morning on March 1st. While transporting a patient to a local hospital the vehicle Tammy was operating was struck and subsequently rolled over. Much to the horror of everyone at Care Ambulance we lost a longtime friend, coworker, father, and husband David Mimm. David was in the back of the ambulance rendering aid to a patient at the time. Tammy was quickly taken from the scene of the accident to BMCS ER where staff worked diligently, proficiently, and successfully to stabilize Tammy and give her a chance of survival.  Tammy was diagnosed with bilateral humerous fractures, multiple fractures to her leg and ankle, pulmonary contusions, and a laceration to her spleen. Tammy has been placed on a vent at the moment but prospects are high that she will eventually come off. Tammy's road to recovery will be long and at the moment it seems like she will not be able to return to EMS a job which she loves. Tammy is a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Often times at work (especially around the holidays) it was not uncommon to be roped into taking her by somewhere "real quick" in order for her to pickup a gift for one of her granddaughters. Just as wonderful as she was at being there for her family she was just as capable in the back of the ambulance for a stranger. Standing at a whopping 4'11" with blonde hair she is not what you would expect of a paramedic at first glance. But, she has saved a many lives in her time at Care Ambulance. She is a competent medic who understands the balance between being a person and being a professional. I will end on this note. I have always had a deep respect and admiration for Tammy. She told me of her first day at care that she was dispatched to help Lauren Pullman after she had been struck by a vehicle. And from the others stories she has told me life has always been a trial by fire for her. It's evident that Tammy would answer the call for any of us and gladly give us the shirt off her back. This is our opportunity as a community to have her back as well.
