Hi, folks.

A few of you know of my situation re my mother's dementia. Long story, but years of tending to things in small town Pennsylvania, far from my own life, and life itself, left me with quite a void -- and a goose egg. The eventual senior home took the house and the whole schmear. I sold my vehicle, flew west, bought a van for sleep, hooked up with a temp company... The fresh reboot attempt, at 52. OK.

Two months in, I visit San Diego and my transmission dumps. That was 3 months ago, and I'm still treading water here. I managed quick shelter, but it lacks running water, and with no vehicle, most available jobs are out of reach of public transit.

This is an SOS to help me properly relocate, mobilize and stabilize -- funds to go toward steady housing (first/last/deposit), a sound vehicle, and essentials.

Among the possibilities:

A return to or near the Bay Area if elusive digs can be found (Tent space/the boonies/fire country, a-OK! Beyond that, all places, terrains, far and wide considered. Freely hit me up with ideas.)
An affordable fifth-wheel purchase with space rental (available to me in Oregon)
A nice, young enough vehicle to run an Uber
A quality van as a safety net (sleep chamber/horizon hunter), in lieu of the rest

The $ goal is a soft estimate of what it will take to reach solid ground.

That said, I am most grateful for anything. Naturally, I will adapt plans as options narrow or expand according to how y'all respond. If unable to, then please send up a good thought. Deep gratitude to anyone fortunate enough to be able to assist. As you can imagine, it is not easy to ask.
