Shelter Dog *Thunder* Needs Life Changing Surgery
***UPDATE: Thunder has been rescued by the Watts Project rescue! He is SAFE. This fundraiser will now be closing.
This could not have been possible without the help of everyone who have donated to his medical fundraiser, shared his story and posts, spread the word on social media and showed that you care about a shelter dog you have never met. For this we THANK YOU! Please follow @ahomeforthunder on instagram for updates on Thunder.***

Help us raise funds for life changing surgery for Thunder!
Thunder is a 5 year old incredibly lovable and sweet boy who's sadly in a very unfortunate situation. Thunder has been at the South LA animal shelter since November 2018. He has bleeding masses on his undercarriage and his condition is getting worse. The vet believes some (not all) of these are treatable sarcomas and Thunder needs life changing surgery. It's heartbreaking to see him in this condition and our aim is for this fundraiser to be so successful that he can have this surgery within weeks.
Thunder has been taken to an oncologist outside of the shelter by dedicated volunteers who fostered him, and this clinic is ready to help Thunder with his surgery and treatment.
Thunder needs to get out of the South LA shelter and find his forever home. This surgery and a safe place to call home will make it possible for this beautiful boy to enjoy the rest of his life. According to the vet, Thunder can still have many good years ahead of him with the right treatment.
We will be sharing updates on Thunder's story.
We have lots of information about him for anyone who is interested in fostering or adopting him, including videos etc. Thunder is great with other dogs and despite his size (he is a big boy) thinks he is a lap dog who wants nothing more than to lay on the couch next to you and snuggle <3
<3 Things that Thunder loves:
- 24/7 cuddles
- Car rides
- Meeting other dogs
- Crating up
- Walks/sniff patrol/patrolling the neighborhood
- Ice cream!
- Dinner time
- Going potty at the right time and right place
- Baths (especially the fluffy towel drying part)
- Naps
- Every time he sees volunteers walk up to his kennel knowing he will get a walk!
