Tia Licha (Elisa Ceja)

Our Tia Licha ( Elisa Ceja) was the most beautiful soul, inside and out. Anyone who met her for 5 minutes knows this. Everyone became “M’ija/ M‘ijo” (my daughter/my son) right away. Tia Licha was one of the matriarchs of the Ramirez and Ayala families. She worked as a teaching assistant for more than 30 years at Hillery T. Broadous Elementary School In Pacoima, CA. Tia Licha was so loved and respected because she was one of a kind in beauty, wit and loving selflessness. She was a second mother to my siblings and me and beloved by so many.
Sadly, she was diagnosed with ALS 3-4 years ago and became increasingly immobile. As a result, her 24/7caregiver, our cousin Penny, has been unable to work consistently in order to care for her mother. Unfortunately, Tia Licha has had to go to the hospital consistently throughout this pandemic in order to receive care for her ALS symptoms. Tia Licha passed away from Covid related complications on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
My hope for this fundraiser is that we can honor Tia Licha and help alleviate some of the worry that our uncle Moises and cousin Penny will have in regards to Tia Licha’s final expenses.
On behalf of the Ceja, Ramirez and Ayala families, thank you and God bless.
