Help Tico Madlyn Joing recover from Hurricane Otis
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Bob.
I am Tico's brother. My sister was recently severely impacted by Hurricane Otis. For those of you that may not have followed events, Hurricane Otis started as a tropical storm. Within 12 hours at around midnight the next day, it exploded into a category 5 hurricane with sustained winds upwards of 165mph. Many residents were caught completely off guard and had little to no warning. They went to bed with strong winds and woke up to a nightmare scenario.
Tico awoke to the devastating and terrifying winds and she was all alone, except for her dog. As she sought shelter in the rear of her home, the storm blew out all windows and ripped a door from the hinges, pinning her underneath. She suffered a concussion and several severe lacerations and lost of a significant amount of blood. She was alone and without communication.
I eventually was able to contact a few of her local friends and they were able to do a welfare check several days after the storm and that is where they found her. I am eternally grateful for her friends that were able to find her and eventually transport her to Mexico City where she is receiving medical care for her serious injuries. Without their aid, Tico would not be with us today.
Her home is destroyed. The local real estate and surrounding area is largely destroyed and will take multiple years to rebuild. Tico's profession is in real estate. Essentially, she lost her home and her job in the span of 12 hours. I humbly ask you to consider donating to help Tico recover from this life changing, catastrophic and unexpected event that has left her with nothing. If you are unable to donate, thank you for reading. Prayers and well wishes are appreciated.
With loving gratitude,
Bob
