Tired of these tits (Jun's FtM Top Surgery Fund)
Donation protected
Hey! My name's Aaron (or Jun) Park! I'm a 21 years old Vietnamese trans man.
At the beginning of September, I took a huge leap and left my abusive, trans-, and homo-phobic family home. It's been a hella draining process, and it means I've had to struggle with independence/autonomy and budgeting what little I have to survive on my own for the first time ever. But it also means that I have the opportunity now to undergo top surgery — something I've been waiting for since I was 15! I've struggled for a lifetime with severe gender dysphoria, and this would be a huge next step for my transition, for my mental health, and for my life as a whole.
I started testosterone over a year ago and have been paying entirely out of pocket for it on my own, and for other necessary medications/therapy/psychiatric and mental health resources. Now that I'm moved out and have gone no contact with my family, I have no financial support; I can't afford insurance, what with San Francisco rent, which puts me out of about 1.5k every month. Just affording to live is currently where all my savings and near-future income is going. I'll have to put myself through university throughout the next few years, and unfortunately I'm in a position where affording surgery on my own is impossible.
I'm looking forward to moving out of the country by the end of 2020 or in early 2021, and so I want to take this step before the end of the year and before I start off the next stage of my life. I have a consultation for surgery scheduled in mid-November, so I'm looking to hopefully get surgery sometime in December or January!
Anything I get from this fundraiser would go towards this operation, which is an estimation for surgery with the Gender Confirmation Center in SF. If there's any leftover funds, they would help cover any other transition-related medical care (such as ongoing hormone therapy) as well as any necessary expenses such as rent!
Any help would mean the world to me, and I mean it when I say that it is absolutely life-changing.
It's not much, but have a huge thanks from my kids, Mila and T.J. (link to the pic in case it doesn't load below) to you for helping their dad out!!
Thanks so much for helping me get through the next leg of my journey.
Cheers, mates!
